What a dGrade is here
A player's dGrade is their dynamic grade from the world rankings — the running rating that moves game by game. This tool doesn't compute it; it pulls it, and uses it for exactly two things: seeding (blocks, doubles pairing, knockout draws, auto-assignment between competitions) and display (the roster, and the public page if you show dGrades).
Refreshing
↻ Refresh dGrades in the event header re-pulls current ratings for the whole roster; the header pill shows when they were last taken. Completed events can't refresh — their dGrades are the record of what the seeding actually used.
Two consequences of a refresh worth knowing:
- If the new ratings change the rank order, seeded blocks are flagged as stale — nothing re-seeds by itself.
- If you've announced "seedings are as of <date>", set the dGrade cutoff date — after it, Refresh asks before silently re-taking ratings.
Players without a rating
Entrants added manually get an estimated dGrade — your judgment, used only for seeding inside this event. A player left without one can't be auto-balanced into blocks or doubles pairs; even a rough estimate lets seeding place them. Refine the estimate any time from the roster.
Current vs max-12-months
Seeding can use each player's current dGrade or their highest in the last 12 months — a per-competition choice on Format. The two differ only for players whose grade has dropped in the last year: max-12-months seeds them on the higher, earlier figure; current seeds them on the grade today.
