WCF Export

What this section does

Produces the event's results in the format the WCF ingests for ranking, so your event's games count. Refresh rebuilds it from current scores; Download WCF export saves the .xlsx; Included sections lists exactly what's in the file.

What's included — and what isn't

  • Singles games only — doubles games are never part of WCF ranking, and the tab notes when doubles were excluded.
  • Walkovers are excluded automatically — only played games count. This is one way the file differs from croquetscores' own results export, which carries a walkover as the 1–0 game it needs to advance the winner in a bracket. Where an event is mirrored to Croquet Scores, this file is the one to send for ranking.
  • Z games are included, under their own "Z" section.
  • Blocks only / Knockouts only: once block games have results, three choices appear above the list: All games, Blocks only and Knockouts only. The file is built from the results at the moment of download, so it can be taken at any point in the event. Blocks only carries the block games and any Z games, with the Tournament winner line blank; Knockouts only carries the knockout games. Sending the blocks when they finish and the knockouts at the end sends every game once. The downloaded file's name ends in "(blocks)" or "(knockouts)".
  • A test event can still build and download the file — useful for checking the format — but its public results link serves nothing while the event is a test.

The section does not appear on an American Six Wicket event, which has no ranking database to send results to.

Players added manually without a WCF profile appear by name; linking entrants to their WCF profiles when adding them is what makes results attributable.

The tournament winner line

The file ends with a Tournament winner: line. When the results decide the champion — the top competition's championship final has been played and scored — the name is filled in for you, and the tab shows it before you download. When the results don't name one (no knockout, the final not yet played, an unresolved tie), the line is left blank.

Either way, verify the line before sending — filling or correcting it is the manager's call.

Association Croquet events

On an AC event the tab produces a plain-text .txt file in the AC ranking officer's results format instead of the .xlsx, and the button reads Download results file. The public results link serves the same file.

  • One section per block and per knockout, each opening with Event, Date, Winner, Type and Order lines and closing with End. The Event line is the event name followed by the block or knockout name. When a competition's knockout has the competition's own name, the two sections are told apart: … Championship Swiss (or Blocks) and … Championship Knockout.
  • Games are listed in the order played — by round, then by game — and each knockout's final is its last line.
  • Date is written without leading zeroes and with a two-digit year: 21-23.8.26 within a month, 29.7-3.8.26 across two months.
  • Type is single for one-game contests and match for best-of-three or best-of-five. In a match, every game is written from the match winner's side: games they won carry +, games they lost carry -, for example +16, -3, +26tp.
  • Names are written first name then surname (Order firstname), taken from each player's AC ranking record when they were added with one — so a player appears with the same spelling in every section.
  • Winner is filled in once a block's round robin is complete, and from the final for a knockout; otherwise it is left blank.
  • Show file displays the exact text that will be downloaded.
  • Country code first. Every Event line starts with the event's country code from Event country — CAN Aboyne Open Block 1-A — and the file name carries the same prefix. New Zealand is written NZ, the form the ranking list uses. An event name that already starts with the code isn't prefixed twice. With no event country set, the Event lines carry the name alone and the tab says so.
  • Scoring — walkovers and Z games at entry time.
  • Players — withdrawing (keeps played games for this export) vs removing.
