Roles & sharing an event

The four roles

RoleCan
👑 OwnerEverything — including managing members and deleting the event. The creator.
✏️ ManagerEdit everything: players, formats, schedule, event page, exports. Membership — inviting, role changes, removals — stays with the owner.
🎯 ScorerEnter scores — and nothing else. Setup sections are read-only, and Scoring settings is hidden.
👁 ViewerRead-only everywhere.

Anyone opening an event without edit rights sees a blue "Viewing as … — read-only" banner, so it's always clear which hat you're wearing.

Inviting people

From Details ▸ Managers of this event, the owner enters an email, picks a role, and sends. Pending invites can be re-copied as a link or cancelled, and the owner can change roles or remove members; any member can Leave themselves.

Who to invite, practically:

  • A co-organiser → Manager.
  • The person on the desk entering results → Scorer. They get the Scoring section and can't disturb anything else.
  • A committee member who wants to watch preparations → Viewer.

Sharing without membership

Most sharing needs no invite at all:

  • Spectators and players → the public event page; before it's listed, the private preview link shows it without a login.
  • The clubhouse TV → the display board link or TV code — public, no account.

Membership is for people who change things; links are for people who look.
