Why is a section dimmed in the rail?
Dimmed means "not in use for this event" — that's Knockout setup before you've opted into a knockout. Open the dimmed section and it offers to set one up. Nothing is wrong; the event just doesn't use that machinery yet.
Why do some sections only appear sometimes?
The rail only shows what your formats need. Order of Play appears once a blocks format exists; Swiss appears when a Swiss or Flexible Swiss format exists; Knockout schedule appears once brackets exist. Labels adapt too — the schedule row reads Block schedule, Swiss schedule or Match schedule depending on what it's scheduling.
What does the amber dot on a rail item mean?
Something in that section needs attention — hover it and the tooltip says exactly what (e.g. pairings out of date, a bracket missing an eligible player). A green ✓ means the section is in good shape.
Regenerate, Re-seed, Refresh — which one do I want?
Three different tools:

Rule of thumb: after a roster change, work top down — refresh ratings if needed, re-snake stale blocks, then Re-seed · keep times if the schedule should survive, or Regenerate if it shouldn't.
Why can't I change the format?
The competition has recorded results, so its format is locked — reshaping a half-played draw would orphan the scores. If it's genuinely a false start, clear the scores first and the format unlocks.
Why isn't my event in the public directory?
In order of likelihood:
- It's a test event — test events list only to their own members, never to the public, and the Event Page section shows "Listed — paused while test". Switch it to a real event on Details.
- It's unlisted — the Listed in the public directory toggle on the Event Page section is off.
- It has no name or start date yet — real events only become public once both exist.
A player pulled out — remove or withdraw?
Withdraw if they've played any games: their results stay on record and in the WCF export — though they drop out of the standings — and the scheduler stops placing them. Remove only for players who never hit a lawn. See Players.
Does anything go public before I'm ready?
A real event's page becomes reachable once it has a name and dates, but each feature — the draw, the schedule, the scores — has its own toggle on the Event Page section, and the whole event can be unlisted. Test events are never public. You can also share the private preview link before listing anything.
