What the Calendar is for
The Format tab builds a whole season in one go. What it cannot know is the exceptions, because nobody lists them from memory on a form: the week of the club championship, the venue that is shut for a wedding, the final that wants somewhere bigger.
The Calendar is where those are dealt with, after the draw exists and the clash is visible. Every change here moves one match. Nothing is regenerated.
Rebuilding the schedule on the Format tab throws away everything changed here. Once a season has been adjusted on the Calendar, move matches rather than rebuilding.
The grid
Each month the season touches is drawn as whole weeks, Monday to Sunday. Days either side of a month boundary are shown greyed so nothing falls off the edge.
A match appears as a chip in the home club's colour, reading host v visitor in short names. Clicking a chip opens that match below the grid and scrolls to it; clicking it again closes it. The open match has Lineup & scoring ›, which goes to that match on the scoring page: availability, team sheets and the score. A chip outlined in amber is on a venue marked shut that day.
Above the months, a key pairs each short name with its team and colour — T1 Team 1 — so a chip can be read at a glance.
A line at the top counts the matches, the dates they fall on, any match with no date, and any match on a venue that is shut.
Moving one match
Opening a match shows its round, the two sides and where it is played. Where it is played reads the usual venue until it is given one of its own.
Date and Time change that match alone. Other matches in the same round stay where they are. To move a whole round, use the round's own date box on the Format tab.
Played somewhere else names a venue for this match only. Typing searches the venue catalogue; picking a result links it, and typing anything else is kept as written, so Riverside, lawn 3 works whether or not it exists in the catalogue. Back to the usual venue clears it again.
Swap sides makes the visitor the host. Because that changes where the match is played, it also clears any venue set by hand for that match.
Leaving the venue empty is not the same as setting it. Empty means wherever the home side plays, resolved when the page is drawn. So changing a club's home venue in League settings still moves all of that club's home matches, which a copied-in venue would not.
Matches with no date
A season built with No fixed dates has no grid to draw, so its matches are listed together under Matches with no date, each with the same date, time and venue controls. Giving one a date puts it on the grid.
Venues that are shut
A blackout is a venue and a date it cannot host, with an optional reason.
Nothing is moved automatically. A blackout marks the day on the grid and outlines any match that lands on that venue, and the match's own panel says which venue is shut and why. Whether the date changes or the venue changes is a decision, not something to guess at.
Blackouts belong to the league, not to one season, so a venue marked shut is marked in every season that runs across that date.
What the players see
A venue set here reaches the people playing. The public season page names it under the match and marks it not the usual venue, and the availability email and the player's own availability page name it too.
Who can change this
Only the league's owner and managers. Captains score their own matches and cannot move them.
