Getting started

The quick-start checklist

Appears: While an event is still being set up

The checklist bar

While an event is in setup, a collapsible Quick start bar sits at the top of every section for owners and managers. It tracks the core steps —

Name and dates · Set up competitions · Add players · Assign to competitions · Set the format · Scoring settings (optional) · Schedule (optional) · Enter scores · Add a knockout (optional) · Preview event page

— counts off the non-optional steps (4/7), and while collapsed offers one "Next: … →" button that takes you straight to the next unfinished step. Steps marked optional really are optional: a casual one-block event can go from players to scoring and skip everything else.

The bar retires itself once the core steps are done on a real event. A real event in setup carries a SETUP badge; a practice event a PRACTICE badge.

The green button at the bottom of each section

Each setup section ends with one green button that chains you to the natural next section — Add Players →, Set up Format →, View Order of Play →, and so on. If the next step isn't ready (say, the format needs players first), the button is disabled and its tooltip says why.

Between the checklist at the top and the chain button at the bottom you never have to guess where to go next — following either one walks you through the whole event in order.

Resuming the guided wizard

If you left the creation wizard early, the quick-start bar offers "Resume guided setup →" while the event is still untouched. Once you've made real progress in the sections, the wizard steps aside and the checklist takes over.
